چکیده

Objective: The objective of the current work is to examine protective effects S-methyl methionine sulfonium chloride (MMSC) on brain in galactosamine (GalN)-induced hepatotoxicity rats. Materials and Methods: A total twenty two female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into four groups as follows: Group I (n=5), intact control animals; II (n=6), animals that received 50 mg/kg/day MMSC by gavage technique for 3 consecutive days; III injected with a single dose 500 mg/kg GalN intraperitoneally (i.p.); IV (n=6) are same (i.p.) 1 hour after treatment. At end experiments (after 6 hours last treatment), all sacrificed under anaesthesia, tissues dissected out. Results: statistically remarkable increase lipid peroxidation, hydroxyproline, nitric oxide levels, was detected while notable decline activities sodium/potassium ATPase observed group comparison In contrast, alterations reversed when given groups. Conclusion: Consequently, it may be considered has role GalN-induced

Protective effect of wild ginseng cambial meristematic cells on d-galactosamine-induced hepatotoxicity in rats

BACKGROUND Panax ginseng has a wide range of biological activities including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory functions. Wild ginseng cambial meristematic cells (CMCs) were obtained from P. ginseng cambium. This study examined the protective mechanism of wild ginseng CMCs against d-galactosamine (GalN)-induced liver injury. GalN, a well-known hepatotoxicant, causes severe he...

Protective Effects of Phycocyanin on Galactosamine-induced Hepatitis in Rats

This study was performed to determine the potential hepatoprotective and anti-inflammatory effects of the microalgae pigment phycocyanin in galactosamine-induced acute liver damage in rats. Phycocyanin (50-200 mg kg i.p) was administered one hour before the galactosamine (600 mg kg i.p) and the blood was extracted 24 hours later to determine alanine amino transferase (ALT), aspartate amino tran...
